Dance CampWorld of Swing proudly presents the 7th edition of the international Rock That Swing Festival in Munich. The festival celebrates the diversity of the dances and music from the Swing and Rock’n Roll era from the 30s to the 50s. Over a span of 5 days, the fantastic dance nights, hot live music, shows, competitions, numerous workshops and passionate dancers from all over the world create an inspiring and unforgettable atmosphere. Forty of the world’s best dancers teach during the day and perform amazing shows at night. The highlight of the Rock That Swing Festival is the annual "Jamboree Ball" at the beautiful and elegant Deutsches Theater in Fröttmaning.

During daytime, the Rock That Swing Dance Camp offers a vast variety of 150+ classes in Lindy Hop, Boogie Woogie, Charleston, Balboa, Shag, Tap, Vernacular Jazz, and Burlesque.

The class material comprises moves, lead and follow techniques, musicality and rhythm for all levels. Dancers at any level, from beginner to intermediate to advanced and all the way up to teacher, can create their own individual schedule. Mark it in your calendar: February 16th to 20th, 2012 - RTSF!

Special Features

Dance CampDance Camp
  • Each class has a special theme and you can freely choose your classes and dances at the Dance Camp.
  • The Dance Camp can be booked by the day. So you can book from one day up to all four days. Additional days are discounted.
  • Taster classes and various special themes add a large variety of topics at the last class of the day.
  • Up to five levels of classes for Boogie Woogie, Balboa, and Lindy Hop.
  • Beginner classes in Lindy Hop, Boogie Woogie, and Balboa.
  • Special classes for competition dancers in Lindy Hop, Boogie Woogie, and Balboa.
  • A special“Train The Trainer” track that is aligned to the needs of teachers.
  • Separated dance studios with wooden floors provide a proper learning environment.

Registration/Check-In

The central contact point for all your Rock That Swing needs is the Rock That Swing Check-In. During daytime the Check-In is located in the Kolpinghaus (Adolf-Kolping-Str. 1, 80336 Munich) and at nighttime next to the evening box offices. At the Check-In you can pick up your dance camp documents and pre-ordered tickets. Late birds can still sign up for the Dance Camp and purchase remaining tickets for the evening events.
