Rock That Swing is a great place to start swing dancing. Just bring your dance shoes and a small portion of patience. The teachers will make sure that you will have a good time and be able to dance the night away. The Dance Camp offers specific beginner tracks in Boogie Woogie, Lindy Hop, Balboa, Shag and Rockabilly Jive that don't require any experience.
Those beginner tracks consist of three classes that will build-up on each other and instruct you step by step. So if you are completely new to a dance you need to start with the first lesson and should not skip any of the set. You'll learn the necessary foundation (footwork and basic elements) for the particular dance you choose. Those are essential if you want to continue with a beginners-intermediate class on the following days.
The only exception is Shag. If you have attended the Shag beginner track on Friday you can go directly to the intermediate classes on Saturday because there are no beginner/intermediate classes offered at the Rock That Swing Dance Camp.
The forth class of each day are filled with taster classes. Here you can try out additional beginner classes for various other dances.
