Munich city is easily accessible by plane, train or car and the city’s excellent infrastructure makes it convenient to go around by public transportation. The class venues are all located within walking distance from each other, near the central station and the famous “Stachus” . Check-In Address

The central contact point for all your Rock That Swing needs is the Rock That Swing Check-In. At the Check-In you can pick up your Dance Camp documents and pre-ordered tickets. Late birds can still sign up for the Dance Camp and purchase remaining tickets for the evening events. During daytime the Check-In is located at the

Coming by Car

Almost all venues are located in the city centre. You can use the Check-In address as your destination address:

The Adolf-Kolping-Straße is a side street of the Sonnenstraße. It is located between the China Fast Food Restaurant and the drugstore MÃ¼ller (next to the department store Galeria Kaufhof). Entering the Adolf-Kolping-Straße is possible from the Sonnenstraße (east) via the SchlosserstraÃŸe and from the Schillerstraße (west)—Be aware that the Schillerstraße is a one-way street and the Sonnenstraße is divided. If you will drive directly to one of the evening venues follow the directions below.

Parking
Parking at the roadside is only free on Sundays and after 11 pm until the morning. Normally parking at the roadside or in parking structures is quite expensive. The parking structure "Parkhaus am Stachus", which is across the Kolpinghaus in the Adolf-Kolping-Straße 10, gave us a special deal. You can park for a reduced price. You just need to pick up the parking vouchers at the Check-In. A full day ticket is 10 € and an evening ticket (5 pm to 8 am) is 3 €. Because the parking structure closes at night be aware of the opening hours.

Hotels may have special parking rates for guests. You can reach the Deutsches Theater (Sunday night) and the Alte Messe (Saturday night) with public transportation. For parking at those events see the information below.

Coming by Train or Plane

Train
Your destination is "München Hauptbahnhof". You can find the timetable information and book the tickets for the German railway system at www.bahn.de. From the Hauptbahnhof it is a 3-4 minute walk to the events.

Munich Airport
Take S-Bahn S8 or S1 (towards "Hauptbahnhof") and exit at "Karlsplatz/Stachus" (ca. 40-45 min.). It’s only a 3 minute walk to the main events. Timetable information for the Munich public transportation can be found at www.mvv-muenchen.de.

Getting to the city centre with public transportation

Munich has an extremely well developed public transportation system. The complete timetable of the Munich public transportation (MVV) can be found at www.mvv-muenchen.de. The Kolpinghaus is directly in the city centre. The closest stop near the Kolpinghaus is Karlsplatz/Stachus, but you can also use the stops Sendlinger Tor and Hauptbahnhof :

• Karlsplatz/Stachus for S-Bahn (all lines), U-Bahn (U4, U5), Tram (lines 17, 18, 27, N17, N27)
There are many exits at Karlsplatz/Stachus. When you come up from the underground level take the wide main walk up to the mezzanine level. Walk straight ahead into the passage. At the end of the passage you will see a Tengelmann store. Turn right and take the right escalator. The next crossing is already Adolf-Kolping-Straße. Turn left into the street. The Kolpinghaus and the Alt-Münchner Gesellenhaus are on the left side of the street.

• Sendlinger Tor for U-Bahn (U1, U2, U3, U6, U7, U8), Tram (lines 17, 18, 27, N17, N27)
Take the exit Sonnenstraße. Make sure you are on the left side of the street walking north on Sonnenstraße. Turn left into Adolf-Kolping-Straße. The Kolpinghaus and the Alt-Münchner Gesellenhaus are on the left side.

• Hauptbahnhof for S-Bahn (all lines), U-Bahn (U1, U2, U4, U5, U7, U8), Tram (lines 16 to 21, N17, N19, N20)
Walk pass the ticket counters in the main hall and exit through the main exit (east), turn right, cross the Bayerstraße and walk into Schillerstraße (a C&A department store is on the left corner), turn left into Adolf-Kolping-Straße (1st street). You will see the Kolpinghaus and the Alt-Münchner Gesellenhaus on the right side.

RTS Dance Camp (Friday – Monday)

The directions to the Dance Camp are the same as to the Check-In at the Kolpinghaus or the Karlsplatz (Stachus). All dance studios are located in walking distance around the Kolpinghaus. At the check-in you will receive your camp material.

The Vintage Club is two blocks away from the Check-In (Kolpinghaus). The entrance is via the passage of the "City Kino". The entrance at Sonnenstraße is next to the "Rossmann" drugstore.

Public transportation: The Sugar Foot Stomp at the Alte Messe is close to the Theresienwiese (Oktoberfest) and in walking distance from the central station. You also can use public transportation (U5 + U4) to Schwanthaler Höhe (2 stops after the Hauptbahnhof).

Car: The Sugar Foot Stomp at the Alte Messe is close to the Theresienwiese (Oktoberfest). You can park the car in the parking lot of the Theresienwiese. The Alte Messe is located about 100 m away. The venue itself only has a few parking spots.

Public transportation: Take the suburban train (U6) direction Garching. You can enter the train at Marienplatz or Sendlinger Tor, and exit in "Fröttmaning" (approx. 16 min.). Take the exit "P+R-Parkhaus" and follow the underpass to the theatre "Deutsches Theater".

Car: Coming from Munich take the freeway (Autobahn) A 9 München - Nürnberg and exit at junction München-Fröttmaning-Süd (AS 73). There is adequate parking available for 2 € only in the parking lot behind the marquee or for 1 â‚¬ in the P+R Parking structure (please have your Jamboree Ball ticket with you when you exit).
